Dr. Heideh Matterson received her Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. After graduation, she underwent General Paediatrics Specialty Training at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in the United States and Neonatal-Perinatal Subspecialty Training at the New York University Langone Medical Center, United States. During this period, Dr. Matterson completed international training at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Lister Hospital in the United Kingdom. Her professional appointments include experience in Clinical Neonatology at Onsite Neonatal Partners and Jacobi Medical Center, and North Central Bronx Hospital.
The neonatal procedures that Dr. Matterson is proficient in to a mastery level are Ventilation Management: Conventional Ventilation (both Pressure Control and Volume Control techniques), High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation, High-Frequency Jet Ventilation Intubation, Positive Pressure Ventilation, Blood Gas Interpretation, Radiology Interpretation: XR, ultrasound, MRI, Lumbar puncture, Ventriculoperitoneal reservoir taps, Umbilical artery and vein catheter insertion, Peripheral venous line insertion, Peripheral arterial line insertion, Peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), Thoracostomy, Thoracentesis, Abdominal paracentesis, Suprapubic bladder aspiration, 12- lead ECG, Electrical Cardioversion, Partial Exchange Transfusion, Pre and post-operative electrolyte and fluid management of neonatal surgical patients.
