Dr. Florian Zapf

Dr. Florian Zapf is a medical professional with extensive work experience in Pediatrics, Pediatric, and Adult Intensive Care Medicine, and Anaesthesia. He completed his medical training at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg, Germany, in 2008. He then went on to work as a Registrar at the Pediatric Department of the General Hospital Coburg, Germany, from 2008 to 2011. From 2011 to 2014, Dr. Zapf worked as a Senior Registrar at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Switzerland and gained f...urther experience in Pediatrics. He then moved on to work as a Senior Registrar in Anaesthesia and Adult Intensive Care Medicine at the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen in Switzerland from 2014 to 2015. Dr. Zapf continued his work in Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine, and from 2015 to 2017, he served as a Fellow at the Department of Paediatric Intensive Care/Neonatology of the University Children’s Hospital Zurich in Switzerland. He was then appointed as a Consultant at the same department from 2017 to 2018 before completing a fellowship at the Department for Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine of the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne in Australia from 2018 to 2020. Dr. Zapf's current position is as a Consultant at the Department of Paediatric Intensive Care/Neonatology at the University Children’s Hospital Zurich in Switzerland, a role he has held since 2020. Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in areas such as Pain, Sedation, Delirium, and Withdrawal Management. Additionally, he has acquired various skills, including CPR, ECPR, ECMO, Airway Management, Difficult Airway Management, Bronchoscopy, Point of Care Ultrasound, Peripheral and Central venous and arterial access, Lumbar puncture, and Thoracic/Abdominal Drain Placement.
