Dr. Adebola Giwa

Dr. Adebola Giwa has an impressive education and professional background in the medical field. He obtained an MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2013. Dr. Giwa completed a residency in General Pediatrics at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, from 2013 to 2016, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Giwa currently holds the position of Associate Medical Director at Ascendis Pharma in Palo Alto, California. Apart from this, he also serves as a Pediatric Endocrinologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital and as Associate Medical Staff in the Department of Pediatrics at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Giwa also has editorial activities, serving as an editor for the Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism Research, the Journal of Clinical Diabetes and Obesity, and Pediatric Diabetes.

Furthermore, Dr. Giwa is a member of several professional societies, including the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas.

Dr. Giwa has also received several awards and honors, such as being named one of the "10 Nigerians Developing Health Systems in Diaspora" by Business Day Nigeria in 2022, being named the "Top Pediatric Endocrinologist" in Baltimore, MD, in 2021, and 2020, and receiving the Johns Hopkins Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award in 2020. He has also received several academic awards and research presentation awards throughout his education and career.
