Dr. Daniel Weghuber

Dr. Daniel Weghuber is a renowned Pediatrician with extensive clinical and academic experience in the field of Pediatrics. He served as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) in Salzburg, Austria from 2006 to 2016 and as a Professor of Pediatrics from 2016 to 2017. Currently, Dr. Weghuber is the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at the University Hospital Salzburg, Austria, a position he has held since 2006. Dr. Weghuber obtained his MD from the Med...ical University of Vienna in 2000, where he completed his residency training from 2003 to 2006. He is specialized in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and Pediatric Endocrinology, and his research interests lie in the management of obesity and associated comorbidities, such as diabetes mellitus, liver diseases, and preclinical atherosclerosis. Dr. Weghuber is also interested in interdisciplinary diagnostics, mitochondrial genetics, and the lifestyle and pharmacological treatment of obesity. Furthermore, he is involved in the interdisciplinary bariatric surgery of children and adolescents with obesity, and he is committed to educating healthcare professionals on the management of obesity at the national and international levels. Dr. Weghuber is a Past President of the European Childhood Obesity Group and has published over 220 articles in various peer-reviewed journals.
