Biography

Dr. Hartmut Link graduated in 1976 from Tübingen University, Germany, where he received his training in Internal Medicine and joined the research group on leukemia and immunogenetics. He specialized in Hematology and Oncology at the Medical University Hannover, Germany, established the clinical bone marrow transplantation program, and became a senior physician in 1985 and Professor of Medicine in 1994. Dr. Link was the Medical Director at the Westpfalz Clinic, Department of Haematology and On...cology, Kaiserslautern, Germany from 1998 until 2017. His research interests include bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, infections in immunosuppressed patients, supportive care with hematopoietic growth factors, and clinical trials in oncology. Dr. Link has long experience with clinical studies in oncology. He is advising the pharmaceutical industry on approval procedures for oncological drugs, on studies, and approval of biosimilars in oncology. Dr. Link has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbooks on oncology, leukemia, supportive care, and infectious diseases, and serves as a reviewer for international journals. He is the editor of the Onkopti®-database on digitalized treatment protocols in oncology (oncopti.com). He is engaged in several national and international working groups developing guidelines in supportive care, focusing on hematopoietic growth factors and infections in neutropenia. Furthermore, he is a member of several guideline commissions of the German Cancer Society, such as lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, malignant melanoma, stomach cancer, chronic lymphatic leukemia, and supportive therapy.
