Dr. Michael Herold

Dr. Michael Herold is an experienced specialist in Internal Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, with a particular focus on lymphoma. He has an extensive work history in the field of hematologic oncology, serving as the Head Physician and Head of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the 2nd Medical Department of the HELIOS Clinic Erfurt from 1988 to 2008. Dr. Herold also served as a responsible physician for a ward of the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Medical Department of the Medical School of E...rfurt, from 1978 to 1988. In 2008, Dr. Herold was appointed as the Head of the 4th Medical Department of Hematology/Medical Oncology at the HELIOS Clinic Erfurt, a position he held until 2013. He was also one of the founders of the tumor center at the Helios Clinic 26 years ago. Since then, 20 hospitals have been reporting around 10,000 new cancer cases from the western and central Thuringia region to this center every year. The specialist was in charge of the Oncology Center of Helios Clinic Erfurt, Germany, from 2011 to 2019. Dr. Herold's expertise extends beyond clinical practice. He is currently involved in clinical studies, treatment guidelines, and publications, and has been holding the position of Professor of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital Jena since 2004.
