Dr. Amir H Yassari has an extensive academic and professional background in the field of psychiatry and neuroscience. Dr. Yassari obtained his Medical Doctor degree from the Medical University of Vienna, where he completed his medical training. Throughout his studies, he undertook internships and research programs at various institutions worldwide. His thesis on normative blood values in the posterior fossa with quantitative MRI perfusion was highly commendable and earned him merit. He then purs...ued a Master of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience, focusing on the psychophysiology of emotional processing and understanding emotional intelligence through specific neural responses. His thesis was highly regarded and earned him a distinction. During his studies, Dr. Yassari had the opportunity to conduct international research at renowned institutions. He spent time as an International Research Scholar at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago and later at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. These experiences broadened his knowledge and provided him with valuable insights into different approaches to mental health research and treatment. After completing his medical studies, Dr. Yassari continued his professional journey at the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf in Germany. He served as a Resident Physician in several units, including Affective Disorders Outpatient Service, Neurology Unit, Affective Disorders Unit, and Geriatric Psychiatry Unit. During this time, he developed a special interest in anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, which led him to become the Head of the Unit for Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders in 2020. Driven by his passion for helping individuals with mental health issues, Dr. Yassari founded the Anxiety & OCD Research Group in 2020, aiming to contribute to the understanding and treatment of these conditions. He also became involved in sports psychiatry, establishing and leading the Sports Psychiatry Outpatient Services. Recognizing the importance of quality and safety in healthcare, he took on the roles of Quality Manager and Security Officer, ensuring the highest standards of care for his patients. To expand his reach and provide comprehensive care, Dr. Yassari founded his own private practice, MindBrain Clinicum, in Hamburg. As the CEO and practicing physician and psychotherapist, he offers specialized treatments to individuals seeking mental health support. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Yassari is dedicated to sharing his expertise and advancing the field of psychiatry. He co-founded Coaching Fast Forward GbR, a coaching and mental performance organization, where he serves as a Workshop Coordinator and Mental Performance Coach. Furthermore, he actively contributes to the academic community as an ad-hoc reviewer for Frontiers Psychiatry journal.
