Biography

Dr. Shreerang Bhide is a highly qualified and experienced consultant in clinical oncology with extensive training and expertise in treating head and neck, and gastrointestinal cancers. He obtained his MBBS degree from the University of Pune in 1994 and went on to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1999 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2004. In 2009, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Radiotherapy) from the University of London. Dr. Bhid...e is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Clinical Oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research, London & Sutton, a position he has held since October 2010. Prior to this, he held various positions in oncology and general medical training, including specialist registrar at University College Hospitals, London, and clinical research fellow at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He has significant experience in treating head and neck, and gastrointestinal cancers using advanced radiation techniques such as IMRT, Rapid Arc, and VMAT, as well as chemotherapy and novel systemic treatments, including targeted agents and immunotherapy. Dr. Bhide is also a highly accomplished clinical researcher and has served as chief investigator and co-investigator on several commercial and non-commercial clinical trials of novel systemic therapy agents used in the management of cancer. His research interests include head and neck and gastrointestinal cancers, and he has published more than 80 peer-reviewed publications on these topics. Dr. Bhide is actively involved in various committees and working groups related to oncology research, including serving as co-lead for the ctDNA cross-cutting theme and member of the oversight committee of the Oncology Translational Research Committee (O-TRC), deputy chair of the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Head and Neck Cancer Research Network, and a member of the international working group for the development of target delineation guidelines for MR-guided rectal radiotherapy. He also serves as an associate editor for Frontiers in Oncology - Head and Neck Cancer and is a journal reviewer for several prestigious publications in the field of oncology.
