Dr. Rainer G.H. Moosdorf is a distinguished Professor Emeritus and former Chairman of the Department for Cardiovascular Surgery at the University Hospital Giessen and Marburg - Campus Marburg. His career in medicine began in 1970 when he enrolled in the University of Marburg to study Medicine and Dentistry. After completing his medical examination in 1976, he embarked on an internship at the University Hospitals Giessen and Marburg, gaining experience in internal medicine, anesthesiology, and ca...rdiovascular surgery. In 1977 and 1978, Dr. Moosdorf pursued further studies in Dentistry at the University of Giessen, culminating in an examination and qualification in the field. From 1978 to 1983, he served as a resident at the Department for Cardiovascular Surgery at the University Hospital Giessen. During this time, he displayed dedication to his profession, leading to his appointment as a Senior Registrar in the same department from 1983 to 1990. Dr. Moosdorf's expertise and commitment to cardiovascular surgery led him to a position as a Visiting Professor at the Carolinas Heart Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1989 and 1990. In 1990, he became a C3 Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department for Cardiovascular Surgery at the University Hospital Bonn, holding this position until 1994. The highlight of Dr. Moosdorf's career came in 1994 when he became a C4 Professor and Chairman of the Department for Cardiovascular Surgery at the University Hospital Marburg, a role he held until 2017.
