Dr. Leopoldo Perez de Isla

Dr. Leopoldo Perez de Isla is a highly accomplished Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Imaging specialist with a wealth of clinical and scientific experience. He obtained his MD degree from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1995 and, since then, has held several positions of increasing responsibility and leadership in different medical institutions. Currently, Dr. Perez de Isla serves as the Head of the Cardiovascular Risk Unit at the San Carlos Hospital Clinic in Madrid, Spain. He is also... an Associate Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, where he imparts his vast knowledge and expertise to the next generation of medical professionals. Dr. Perez de Isla served as the Associated Editor of the Spanish Journal of Cardiology and as the President of the Cardiovascular Imaging Group of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (ESC). He has led the Transthoracic echocardiography accreditation from 2007-2010 and has served as a board member of the Grading Committee of the EACVI Research Grants in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. He is also a member of the Events Committee of the SAFEHEART Registry of the Spanish Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Foundation. Dr. Perez de Isla has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the field of cardiology and has been awarded ninth place in the MERCO 2014 ranking of the 10 cardiologists with the best reputation in Spain. He has also published extensively, with 15 books as an editor and more than 50 as an author. Additionally, he has over 275 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented over 500 abstracts at various national and international symposia.
