Biography

Dr. Ben Vanneste is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in radiotherapy and a scientific focus on prostate cancer, rectum-spacer, brachytherapy prostate (LDR-HDR), ultrasound (4D), shared decision aids, stereotactic radiotherapy, and immunotherapy. He currently serves as a staff member at UZ Ghent in Belgium, where his work revolves around brachytherapy, urology, stereotactic radiotherapy, and immunotherapy. Additionally, he works as a consultant at MAASTRO Clinic in M...aastricht, Netherlands. Dr. Vanneste obtained his medical degree from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium and went on to complete his residency in radiotherapy at UZA-ZNA, Antwerp. He also completed his residency in gynecology/brachytherapy at AMC, Amsterdam. Furthermore, he completed a fellowship in brachytherapy at Institute Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, Paris. Dr. Vanneste's research work has resulted in numerous publications, with over 70 publications to his name. He completed his PhD at MAASTRO Clinic, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. P. Lambin. His thesis work focused on implantable rectum spacers, with the aim of reducing rectal toxicity in prostate cancer radiation therapy.
