Dr. Kai Uwe Koehrmann

Dr. Kai Uwe Koehrmann is an experienced Urology and Urologic Oncology Specialist, currently serving as the Head of the Department of Urology at St. Theresien Hospital. He completed his Medical Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and received advanced training in surgical urology, medical tumor therapy, and andrology. Dr. Koehrmann has a wide range of expertise in General Urology, which includes diagnosis and treatment of cancer (prostate, bladder, kidney, testis including ch...emotherapy, HIFU-therapy), urolithiasis, BPH, other bladder voiding dysfunction in men, and incontinence, uro-gynecology. In Surgical Urology, his specialization is focused on open radical prostatectomy/cystectomy (nerve-sparing), neobladder, continent pouch, kidney surgery, ESWL, PCNL, flexible ureterorenoscopy, TUR-P/Greenlight-laser-vaporisation, retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy (nerve sparing, post-chemo). Dr. Koehrmann has a vast experience in the field of Urology, which is evident from his previous positions. He served as a Consultant Urologist, Senior Physician, and Assistant Medical Director in the Urological Department at University-Clinic Mannheim. Prior to this, he worked as a Resident in various hospitals, including the Urological Department at University-Clinic Mannheim, Municipal Clinics in Offenbach am Main, and the Institute of Pathology at Clinics in the city of Wuppertal. Apart from his clinical practice, Dr. Koehrmann is also actively involved in the Urology community. He is the Chairman of the Working Group of “Chief physicians” of the German Society of Urology, and a Member and Former Chairman of the Working Group “Urolithiasis” of the same society. Dr. Köhrmann also founded and became the First Chairman of the Working Group "Focal and Micro-Therapy" of the German Society of Urology.
