Dr. Willem Lybaert

Dr. Willem Lybaert is a highly accomplished medical oncologist based in Belgium, with over two decades of professional experience in the field. He received his MD from the Catholic University of Leuven in the year 2000 and has since gone on to achieve a number of impressive career milestones.

Dr. Lybaert currently works as a Medical Oncologist at several hospitals in Belgium, including AZ Nikolaas, AZ Lokeren Hospital, and AZ Sint-Augustinus Hospital. He started serving as a Consultant at Antwerp University Hospital in 2016, before being appointed as a Staff Member in the Head and Neck Oncology Program at the same hospital in 2021.

In addition to his current positions, Dr. Lybaert has also been involved in a number of professional affiliations throughout his career. He serves as a MOC-supervisor for Neuro-Endocrine Tumors at the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society Centers of Excellence and is a Board Member of the Belgian Society of Medical Oncology. He is also a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Lybaert has a particular interest in a number of areas within medical oncology, including digestive oncology, neuro-endocrine tumors, head and neck oncology, and breast cancer. He has participated in a number of phases 1-2-3 studies related to these areas of interest and has authored more than 10 publications throughout his career.
