Dr. Teresa Macarulla is a highly accomplished medical professional with a strong background in oncology research and clinical practice. From 2004... to 2016, Dr. Macarulla served as an Attending Physician in the Gastrointestinal Tumors Service and Medical Oncology Service at the University Hospital of Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona. Her work primarily focused on the treatment and care of patients with gastrointestinal tumors, including colon, gastric, pancreatic, biliary, and esophageal cancers. In 2007, Dr. Macarulla participated in the Clinical Exchange Program at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, United States, further expanding her knowledge and expertise in the field of oncology. Since 2016, Dr. Macarulla has held the position of Head of the Gastrointestinal and Endocrine Tumor Unit and Principal Investigator at the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology.
