Dr. Stefan Poertl

Dr. Stefan Poertl is a specialist in internal medicine, with a focus on the detection and treatment of hormonal diseases, especially thyroid diseases. He has been running his private practice in Miesbach, Germany, since 2003. Dr. Pörtl completed his medical studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, and also studied at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, USA. He graduated with an MD degree, summa cum laude, in 1996. During his medical studies, he conducted res...earch on the thyrotropic effect of the pregnancy hormone HCG on the recombinant human TSH receptor, for which he was awarded his MD degree. Dr. Poertl gained valuable experience during his residency training, which included working in the Department of Endocrinology at Essen University Hospital, Clinic Berchtesgadener Land, and the Internal Department at Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy between 1994 and 2003.
