Biography

Dr. Maurice Beghetti is a Swiss medical professional and specialist in pediatric cardiology. He currently serves as the Director of the University Center of Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at both the Geneva and Lausanne University Hospitals in Switzerland, as well as a Professor at both institutions. Dr. Beghetti is also the Pulmonary Hypertension Program Director at Geneva University Hospitals, a role he has held since 2014. Dr. Beghetti received his MD from the University of Genev...a in 1986, followed by a specialization in Pediatric Surgery and Medical Genetics, and later in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. He spent the majority of his career at Hospitals in Geneva, with a three-year fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Beghetti's areas of expertise include congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. He is an active member of various national and international societies and organizations such as the Swiss Society of Pediatric Cardiology, the International Association for Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension, and the European Society for Pulmonary Hypertension, among others. Dr. Beghetti has authored and co-authored more than 250 publications, including books and book chapters. Throughout his career, Dr. Beghetti has been the recipient of various awards and prizes, including the Edouard Chérigié Prize from the FNMR, the Prize of the Swiss Society of Cardiology, and the La Francophonie Clinical Research Prize in Pediatrics.
