Biography

Dr. Roland Gitter is a highly skilled and experienced pediatric cardiologist, currently serving as the Deputy Head of the Department for Pediatric Cardiology at Kepler University Hospital in Linz, Austria, since 2007. He is also the head of the largest Catheterisation Laboratory for congenital heart defects in Austria. Dr. Gitter's expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease, fetal interventions, and hybrid procedures, as well as echocardiography, including TOE and ...3D echo, fetal echocardiography, and pediatric cardiac intensive care. Dr. Gitter began his medical education by earning an MD from the University of Graz in 1989. He then underwent training in occupational health, and residency in general medicine, pediatrics, and pediatric cardiology. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the German Heart Institute Berlin and German Heart Center Munich from 2000 to 2002. Dr. Gitter's professional affiliations include the Austrian Society for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and the European Association for Pediatric Cardiology.
