Biography

Prof. Dr. Gerhard Schaller is a highly accomplished medical professional with an extensive work experience in various institutions in Germany. He obtained his MD from the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel and RWTH Aachen University, followed by his specialist training at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Free University of Berlin and the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Dr. Schaller started his professional career as a re...sident at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Free University of Berlin in 1980 and continued as a resident at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich from 1987 to 1992. He then served as the Assistant Medical Director at the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Medical Center Benjamin Franklin of the Charité from 1992 to 2001. During his tenure at the Charité, he also served as the Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Medicine in Gynecology from 1992 to 2001. In 2001, Dr. Schaller was appointed as the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Ruhr University Bochum, where he worked until 2003. He then moved to Munich to become the Head of the Breast Care Institute in 2006, a position he holds to this day. Dr. Schaller is a highly respected member of various national and international scientific societies, including the American Association for Cancer Research, where he has been a Corresponding Member since 1995. He was also a Member of the Guideline Commission of the German Cancer Society from 2000 to 2010 and a Member of the Berlin Cancer Society from 1999 to 2001. In addition to his impressive work experience, Dr. Schaller has also received several awards throughout his career. He was awarded the Research Prize from the Free University of Berlin in 1998 and the Johann Georg Zimmermann Prize from the Hannover Medical School in 1995. Dr. Schaller is also a prolific author, having authored and co-authored more than 80 publications in his field of expertise.
