Dr. Gabriel Salazar

Dr. Gabriel Salazar is a highly skilled and experienced neurologist with a specialization in Parkinson's disease and movement disorders. In addition to his expertise in clinical practice, he has a significant background in managing neurological team researchers. Dr. Salazar possesses a diverse range of skills and proficiencies, including serving as an advisor in health projects and the pharmaceutical industry. He is well-versed in the latest invasive and non-invasive technologies related to move...ment disorders. Dr. Salazar's educational journey began at the University of Carabobo in Venezuela, where he earned his medical degree in 1990. He further pursued his studies at the Central University of Venezuela and obtained a PhD in Neurology in 1995. His doctoral research focused on the diagnostic value of cranial tomography in intracranial diseases. Additionally, he completed a degree in Neurology at the Complutense University of Madrid. He also engaged in fellowship programs at the University of Barcelona and the Clinical Hospital of Barcelona, specializing in the clinical and neurophysiology of Movement Disorders and Parkinson's disease. Throughout his career, Dr. Salazar has held various notable positions. He is currently the Head of the Department of Neurology at Terrassa Health Consortium, a role he has held since 2009. In this capacity, he oversees and leads the neurological department, contributing to the advancement of patient care and research. He is also a Consultant Neurologist at Clavel Institute, where he provides expert neurological consultations. Additionally, he serves as a Consultant Neurologist at Alomar Medical Centre, specializing in High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) treatments, and at Barcelona-Parkinson, contributing to the care and management of patients with Parkinson's disease. Dr. Salazar is actively involved in academia, holding positions as an Associate Professor of Neurology at Gimbernat University since 2018 and at the International University of Catalonia (UIC) since 2015. These roles allow him to impart his extensive knowledge and experience to aspiring neurologists. In the past, Dr. Salazar served as an Adjunct of Neurology at the Mutua de Terrassa Foundation, where he played a vital role in supporting the foundation's neurological initiatives.
