Dr. Akshay Patel has established a distinguished career in the field of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery. His journey began in 2007 when he enrolled at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine - Midwestern University, where he completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2011. Following his medical education, Dr. Patel embarked on a comprehensive residency program in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery ...and Facial Plastics Surgery. From 2012 to 2015, he trained at prestigious institutions such as St. Barnabas Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Bayonne Medical Center, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, honing his surgical skills and gaining valuable experience in complex cases. Driven by a passion for further specialization, Dr. Patel pursued a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center from 2016 to 2017. This fellowship allowed him to refine his surgical expertise and broaden his knowledge in the field. In 2016, Dr. Patel began his professional career as a Clinical Instructor and Staff Attending in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. During this time, he engaged in teaching and clinical practice, sharing his expertise with aspiring medical professionals. In 2017, Dr. Patel joined the University of Connecticut as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
