Dr. Wilko Weichert

Dr. Wilko Weichert studied medicine in Marburg, Würzburg and Berlin. He was appointed as Assistant Professor at the Charité University Medicine, Germany after completing his Residency there. In 2010 he was appointed as a Full Professor of Pathology and Deputy Director at the Institute of Pathology, Ruprecht-Karls University, Germany. Since 2015 he has been holding the Chair for Pathology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

Dr. Weichert is a member of the Board of Directors of the German Society of Pathology, an elected Member of the Expert Council on Cancer of the German Research Foundation (DFG), and appointed German Expert Advisor for the European Medical Agency (EMA). He is experienced in translational tumor research with a focus on tissue-based morphomolecular pathology for the discovery and clinical implementation of novel diagnostic and predictive biomarkers guiding innovative new therapeutic concepts. Dr. Weichert is an expert in gastrointestinal, head and neck, pancreatic, and lung tumors.
