Dr. Robert Guerri-Fernandez

Dr. Roberto Guerri-Fernandez is an Infectious Disease Physician with a focus on severe infections, HIV, COVID-19, and Influenza. He completed his medical studies at the University of Barcelona, followed by an MSc in Infectious Diseases and a PhD in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He also holds a Master's degree in Biostatistics from the same university and an MSc in Healthcare Management from Valencia Polytechnic University.

Currently, Dr. Guerri-Fernandez holds several positions at the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, including Chief of the Section in Infectious Diseases, Coordinator of the HIV infection Unit, and Coordinator of the COVID-19 Unit. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and an Associate Researcher at the University of California, Davis.

Dr. Guerri-Fernandez is a leader in research on viral infections, and he is the Principal Investigator in multiple research projects related to comorbidity associated with chronic viral infections, treatments against SARS-CoV-2 infection, and clinical trials on various viral infections. He is also the Director of a research line on immunological changes associated with chronic viral infections and their correlation with comorbidities.

In addition to his research and clinical work, Dr. Guerri-Fernandez is involved in various professional organizations, including serving as a member of the Committee of Experts for COVID-19 in the Regional Government of Generalitat Catalonia, a member of the Governing Board of the Official College of Physicians of Barcelona, and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Catalan Society of Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Guerri-Fernandez has published over 100 articles in scientific journals, contributing significantly to the field of Infectious Diseases.
