Dr. Markus Marcher is a highly experienced Senior Physician in Thoracic Surgery who has been practicing at KH Nord - Klinik Floridsdorf and Otto Wagner Hospital in Vienna, Austria, since 2019. In addition to his current position, he also holds a private practice in Thoracic Surgery and General Practice since 2013.
Prior to his current positions, he worked as an assistant doctor in thoracic surgery at Otto Wagner Hospital in Vienna from 2009 to 2013, where he gained valuable experience in this field. He also worked as an assistant doctor in anesthesia and intensive care medicine at Göttlicher Heiland Hospital in Vienna from 2008 to 2009 and in various other medical fields, including pediatrics, ear, nose and throat medicine, gynecology, internal medicine, general surgery, and neurology at various hospitals in Vienna from 2005 to 2008.
Dr. Marcher has extensive experience in thoracic surgery, having performed approximately 1100 thoracic operations as a primary surgeon. He is the head of the normal bed ward and the head of the ward surgeon of the surveillance ward. He is particularly skilled in minimally invasive surgery and laser surgery and is knowledgeable in the conservative treatment of septic thoracic diseases. Dr. Marcher is also highly competent in assessing the perioperative risk in multimorbid patients and has comprehensive knowledge of diagnostics as well as conservative and surgical therapy for postoperative complications. Dr. Marcher's expertise also includes the treatment of serial rib fractures and hemothorax.
