Dr. Mario Di Gioacchino

Dr. Mario Di Gioacchino received his Degree in Medicine from D'Annunzio University. After graduation, he received specialized training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology from the Sapienza University of Rome, in Occupational Medicine from the University of Bologna, and in Internal Medicine from D'Annunzio University. Dr. Di Gioacchino was Internal Medicine Department Doctor at the University Hospital, Chieti, Italy, with clinical activity mainly dedicated to immunological, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular diseases. This was followed by being appointed as the Head of the “Allergy and Clinical Immunology” Unit of the University Hospital, Chieti, Italy.

Dr. Di Gioacchino held different academic positions, including a Full Professorship in Occupational Medicine and being a Secretary of the Specialization Course in “Allergy and Clinical Immunology” at D'Annunzio University.

Dr. Di Gioacchino's main scientific interests include Autoimmune diseases, Allergy, Asthma, Occupational Asthma, Nickel allergy, Immunotherapy, Stem cells, Autophagy, Immunotoxicity, and Nanotoxicity. He is the author of about 300 publications. Dr. Di Gioacchino is the President of the Italian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and Secretary of the Italian Society on Nanotoxicity.
