Dr. Janina Trauth is a Senior Physician in Infectious Diseases at the Department of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Infectious Diseases of Justus-Liebig University Giessen, Germany. Her primary interests include pulmonary infections and antibiotic stewardship.
Dr. Trauth's primary responsibilities include Care of patients with HIV infection, including ART therapy; Management of opportunistic infections in HIV/Aids patients (Tuberculosis, PCP, Cerebral Toxoplasmosis, CMV, MAC, Herpes Zoster, Wasting), and Malignant Lymphoma/Carposi Sarcoma; Treatment with ART including 2nd line treatment/rescue therapy and management of side effects; Management of inpatients on an infectious disease ward (Respiratory Tract Infections, RSV, Diarrhea with Dehydration, Measles, Meningitis, Urinary Tract Infection, HIV, TB, tropical diseases, osteomyelitis, endocarditis); Therapy of Hepatitis B/C/D; Management of opioid-addicted patients, including substitution therapy with methadone and buprenorphine; Management of outpatients with infectious diseases; Medical consultant for infectious diseases; Teaching and supervision of medical students; and She is a principal investigator and investigator in various clinical trials (Phase II-IV) on infectious diseases.
