Biography

Dr. Denis Poddubnyy is the Head of the Rheumatology Unit and a Professor of Rheumatology at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. He has been working in the Department of Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, and Rheumatology at Campus Benjamin Franklin since 2009. Prior to that, he worked as a Research Associate in the Rheumatology unit of the same department from 2008 to 2009. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine/Rheumatology at Saratov State Medical University and Saratov Regional Hospital in Russia from 2003 to 2008.

Dr. Poddubnyy's research focuses on early diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes in patients with axial spondyloarthritis, and he has authored a number of publications on this topic in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Assessment of Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS), the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), and the German Society for Rheumatology (DGRh). He has served in various capacities within these organizations, such as being a member of the Executive Committee of ASAS and the Steering Committee of GRAPPA.

Dr. Poddubnyy has received several awards for his contributions to the field of rheumatology, including the Teaching Award of the Working Group Young Rheumatologists of the German Society of Rheumatology (DGRh) in 2020, the Research Award of the German Ankylosing Spondylitis Association (DVMB) in 2012, and Poster Prizes from the German Society for Rheumatology (DGRh) in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017.
