Dr. Denis Poddubnyy is the Head of the Rheumatology Unit: Interdisciplinary rheumatology-infectiology ward, outpatient clinic, clinical research unit, rheumatology laboratory of the Department of Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology at Campus Benjamin Franklin, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. He is also a Professor of Rheumatology there.
In 2008 Dr. Poddubnyy completed his PhD thesis related to cardiovascular pathology in ankylosing spondylitis and in 2013 his lecturer qualification thesis was dedicated to the topic of ‘Prediction and prevention of disease progression in early axial spondyloarthritis’. Since 2003 his research activities have focused on early diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes in patients with axial spondyloarthritis. Dr. Poddubnyy is a member of the executive committee of the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society (ASAS), a member of the steering committee of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), and the author of a number of publications on the topic of spondyloarthritis in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.
