Dr. Serdar Demirel is a highly experienced and accomplished vascular surgeon with a notable career spanning over two decades. He began his medical training in 2002 as a Physician in Practical Training at the Department of General, Cardiothoracic, and Vascular Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital. He worked diligently in this role until 2004, when he transitioned to the position of Resident Physician in General and Thoracic Surgery at the same institution, where he gained valuable experience and hone...d his surgical skills. In 2007, Dr. Demirel embarked on a new professional opportunity as a Resident Physician in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Dr. Horst Schmitt General Hospital. This position allowed him to further specialize in his chosen field and expand his knowledge of vascular conditions and treatments. Dr. Demirel's commitment to his profession led him to pursue further training and specialization. From 2009 to 2013, he served as a Fellow in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at the University of Heidelberg. This period of intensive training helped him refine his surgical techniques and develop a deep understanding of complex vascular cases. In 2013 Dr. Demirel became a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Department of the University of Heidelberg. In 2017, Dr. Demirel was promoted to the position of Managing Senior Vascular Surgeon at the University of Heidelberg.
