Biography

Dr. Nikolaus Haas is specialized in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. He is an expert in congenital heart defects, pediatric intensive care, adults with congenital heart defects, and treatments of heart disease by means of cardiac catheter interventions (interventional pediatric cardiology). Dr. Haas completed his medical studies at the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim and the University of California, Los Angeles. He was the Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at ...the Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, and an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland. From 2006 to 2015, he was the Deputy Director at the Department of Congenital Heart Defects, the Director of Catheterization Laboratory, Interventional Cardiologist, and a Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care at Heart and Diabetes Centre. Since 2015, he has been a Full Professor of Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, and Paediatric Intensive Care at Ludwig Maximillian’s University (LMU) Munich. He is also the Director of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Intensive care there. Dr. Haas is the President of the German Society for Pediatric Cardiology and the German Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease. He is an author of many scientific textbooks and books including German Textbook for Pediatric Cardiology, English and Chinese Textbook for Pediatric Cardiology, German Textbook for Echocardiography, and German Textbook on ventilation of children. He is also involved with training in cardiac catheterization techniques and pediatric intensive care.
