Biography

Dr. Kay G. Hermann is a musculoskeletal radiologist focused on imaging of arthritides. He holds a position as a Professor of Musculoskeletal Radiology at the department of radiology of Charité Medical School, Berlin, Germany. He has also been a Senior Consultant in the same department for 11 years. Dr. Hermann is the initiator of the BerlinCaseViewer app, which provides multi-lingual radiology education. Dr. Hermann studied medicine at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, where he graduate...d in 1999 and received his Venia legendi, Privatdozent PhD, in 2010. In his research activities, Dr. Hermann focuses on imaging of peripheral joint diseases as well as rheumatic conditions of the axial skeleton. The majority of his research projects are in the field of spondyloarthritis, where he is also connected with other researchers from Canada, the UK, Germany, and Israel. He has also a strong track in applying innovative technology within medical education. Dr. Hermann is an active member of ASAS, RSNA, ESSR, DGMSR and DRG and won the Conrad Wilhelm Roentgen award in 2011 and the Felix Wachsmann award in 2014. Dr. Hermann held a grant from the BIH – Berlin Institute of Health – as a BIH Clinical Fellow to further develop medical education.
