Dr. Fritz Leutmezer

Dr. Fritz Leutmezer is a Senior Physician and a Senior Scientist at the Department of Neurology of the Medical University of Vienna, where he has been working since 1998. He completed his medical studies at the University of Vienna in 1997 and obtained his Doctoral thesis on "The postictal state in epilepsy." Dr. Leutmezer's residency training happened in various departments, such as the Department of Neurology, Emergency Department, Department of Psychiatry, and Department of Nuclear Medicine o...f the Medical University of Vienna. Dr. Leutmezer's current position includes being the Head of the Inpatient Department with ward 14K (including the intermediate care unit and department of neurologic rehabilitation) and the Head of the Multiple Sclerosis Outpatient Department. He is also a Senior Scientist and Associate Professor of Neurology at the Medical University of Vienna. Dr. Leutmezer's research interests focus on clinical aspects of multiple sclerosis and progressive Multiple Sclerosis, and he is a member of the study group "Multiple Sclerosis." Dr. Leutmezer has authored and co-authored more than 110 publications, including books and book chapters. His publications cover various aspects of neurology, with a particular focus on multiple sclerosis.
