Docus Partners with Lifepoint to Enhance Lab Data with AI

Updated on: Mar 25, 2026 | 1 min read

Docus, a company developing AI tools for interpreting medical data, has entered a strategic partnership with Lifepoint Informatics, a healthcare IT organization working with a large network of laboratories and providers across the United States.

The collaboration focuses on improving how lab results are understood and used in clinical practice. By combining Lifepoint’s established connections in healthcare with Docus’ AI technology, the two organizations aim to make diagnostic data more practical and easier to act on.

Making Lab Results More Useful

Lab testing is essential in modern medicine, but interpreting results can still be time-consuming and complex. This affects both clinicians, who need fast and accurate insights, and patients, who often struggle to understand their reports.

The partnership introduces AI-powered tools designed to simplify this process. Instead of viewing raw lab data alone, healthcare providers will receive structured insights that support decision-making, while patients will see clearer explanations of their health information.

How the Technology Works

At the core of this initiative is Docus’ AI platform for laboratories. It converts raw test results into structured, actionable clinical insights that can be used directly in care.

For clinicians, the platform provides:

  • Suggested differential diagnoses
  • Follow-up recommendations
  • Possible clinical care pathways and more

At the same time, patients receive simplified explanations, helping them better understand their results without medical jargon.

Through Lifepoint’s network, these insights can be delivered alongside lab results directly into EMR systems. This allows providers to access both data and interpretation in one place, helping reduce manual review time and lowering the risk of missing important findings.

Focus on Workflow and Efficiency

One of the key goals of the partnership is to improve workflow efficiency for healthcare providers. By embedding AI-driven interpretation into existing systems, clinicians can review results faster and make decisions with more confidence.

Docus CEO Robert Sargsyan said the company’s goal is to make health data more usable:

“Our focus is on making health data understandable and actionable for both doctors and patients. Working with Lifepoint helps us bring these capabilities directly into clinical workflows.”

Lifepoint Informatics also emphasized the value of enhancing lab reporting through AI.

“Lifepoint is thrilled to be partnering with Docus AI to deliver enhanced AI-generated result reports,” said Patrick A. Schaffer, Chief Business Officer at Lifepoint Informatics.

A Broader Shift Toward AI in Diagnostics

The partnership reflects a wider trend in healthcare, where AI is increasingly used to support data interpretation and clinical decisions.

By integrating AI into laboratory workflows, Docus and Lifepoint aim to improve how diagnostic information is delivered, making it more actionable for clinicians and more understandable for patients.
