Dr. Pooya Banapour

Dr. Pooya Banapour is a board-certified and fellowship-trained urologic oncologist with expertise in treating a variety of urologic illnesses, including BPH, overactive bladder, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, and urologic malignancies such as prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancer. He received his Bachelor's in Science degree at UCLA, completed medical school at the UCSD School of Medicine, and performed residency training in urologic surgery at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Banapour also completed a fellowship in robotic oncologic surgery at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Currently, Dr. Banapour serves as a Urologic Surgeon at Unio Health Partners in Downey, CA, where he uses the most cutting-edge and innovative minimally-invasive surgical technology at his practice.

Dr. Banapour is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Los Angeles County Medical Society, Los Angeles Urologic Society, American Urological Association, American College of Physicians, and American Medical Association. He also received numerous awards for his contributions to the field of urologic surgery, including the Outstanding MIS Resident Award from the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons in 2018, the International Volunteers in Urology Resident Scholar Award in 2017, and the Outstanding Resident Award from the Los Angeles Urologic Society.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Banapour is also involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, PA students, and other medical trainees. He has authored over 30 publications in his field, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field of urology through research and education.
