Dr. Maria Carmen Mir

Dr. Maria Carmen Mir is a highly qualified medical professional with extensive training in Urology and Urologic Oncology. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, Spain, in 2004. After completing her medical degree, she pursued a residency in Urology at the Division of Urology at Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, Spain, from 2005 to 2010. During her residency, she also completed an observership in Urologic Oncology at the Toronto General Hospital in Canada, in 2008.

In addition to her residency, Dr. Mir earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Surgery (Cum Laude) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain from 2008 to 2012. She also completed fellowship training in General Urology at the University of Melbourne in Australia, from 2010 to 2011, and in Urologic Oncology at the Glickman Urological Kidney Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the United States, from 2011 to 2014. She also served as a Clinical Instructor in Robotics Urologic Oncology at the Department of Urology at the Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami, in the United States, from 2014 to 2015.

Dr. Mir held several professional positions, including Assistant Professor in Urology at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine at the University Hospitals Urology Institute in Cleveland, United States, from 2015 to 2016, and Attending Physician in the Urology Department and Renal Transplantation at the Hospital del Mar-IMIM and at the Valencian Institute of Oncology Foundation, both in Spain. She is currently an Attending Physician in the Urology Department at IMED Hospitals.

Dr. Mir is an active member of various professional societies and cooperative groups, including the Spanish Urology Association, the European Association of Urology, the American Urology Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Societe International Urology, and the Canadian Association of Urology. She is also a Full Member of the Association of Academic European Urologists (AAEU) and serves on the editorial board of several scientific journals, including European Urology Oncology, Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Disease, and the Journal of Urology.

In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Mir has also been involved in various international working groups, including the Renal Cell Carcinoma Group and the EAU-ESMO Urothelial Carcinoma Consensus Working Group. She is also a member of the Society International Urology (SIU) Innovators Group and serves as an examiner for the European Board of Urology (EBU). She is currently a Board Member of the European Society Onco-Urology (ESOU) and serves on the EAU Scientific Committee Office Renal Cancer Section.

Dr. Mir has an impressive publication record, with more than 260 publications, and is specialized in the treatment of prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers.
