Dr. Marcus Horstmann is a urological specialist with extensive experience in various medical institutions across Germany and Switzerland. He obtained his MD from both Humboldt University Berlin and the Free University of Berlin before completing his residency training in general surgery at the Swiss Cadolles Medical Center in Neuchatel. Dr. Horstmann then pursued his urological specialist training at the University Hospital Zurich and the University Hospital Tuebingen.
Following his specialization in andrology, Dr. Horstmann served as a senior physician in the said field at the University Hospital Tübingen for three years before furthering his training in robot-assisted surgery as a senior physician at Cantonal Hospital Winterthur in Switzerland. He later became a senior consultant at the Urology Clinic of Jena University Hospital, where he habilitated on the topic of urine-based tumor markers in bladder cancer.
Dr. Horstmann's most recent position was as Chief Physician for Urology and Pediatric urology, as well as Head of the Robotics Center at the Helios St.-Josefshospital in Krefeld-Uerdingen. He is currently serving as Chief Doctor at Guetersloh Clinic in Germany, where he offers a wide range of treatments with an oncological focus on tumor surgery. His expertise includes robot-assisted surgery, reconstructive interventions in the area of the urethra and ureter, treatment of benign prostate enlargement, urinary incontinence, andrology, and pediatric urology.
Aside from his clinical practice, Dr. Horstmann is also a prolific researcher with over 150 publications to his name.
