After finalizing his medical studies in Berlin, Dr. Marcus Horstmann completed his general surgery residency training at the Swiss Cadolles Medical Center in Neuchatel. The urological specialist training took place at the University Hospital Zürich and the University Hospital Tübingen. He then worked there for three years as a Senior Physician specializing in Andrology. For further training in robot-assisted surgery, Dr. Horstmann returned to Switzerland as a Senior Physician at the Kantonsspital Winterthur. After three years, he moved to the Urology Clinic at Jena University Hospital as a Senior Consultant. There Dr. Horstmann habilitated on the topic of urine-based tumor markers in bladder cancer.
Dr. Horstmann was the Chief Physician for Urology and Pediatric urology and Head of the Robotics Center at the Helios St.-Josefshospital in Krefeld-Uerdingen. He is currently holding the position of Chief Doctor at Gütersloh Clinic in Germany.
Dr. Horstmann offers a wide range of treatments with an oncological focus on tumor surgery. In addition to robot-assisted surgery, his surgical portfolio includes reconstructive interventions in the area of the urethra and ureter, treatment of benign prostate enlargement, urinary incontinence, andrology, and pediatric urology.
