Dr. Marc Hoppenz

Dr. Marc Hoppenz is a Senior Consultant in Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care, currently serving as the Head of the Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Units at the Children's Hospital of Clinic Cologne in Germany. He completed his medical education at Medical University Lübeck and Philipps-University Marburg in 1993.

With a particular interest in the care of premature infants at the edge of viability, pediatric septic shock, and persistent pulmonary hypertension of the neonate, Dr. Hoppenz has published more than five publications on these topics.

Dr. Hoppenz's professional affiliations include membership in the German Society for Child and Adolescent Medicine (DGKJ) and the Society for Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine (GNPI). He is also the Chair of the Clinical Ethics Committee and an appointed transfusion and transplantation specialist.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Hoppenz worked as a Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care at Rhenish Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn from 2004-2006, a Fellow in Pediatric Intensive Care at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin from 2002-2004, and a Fellow in Neonatology at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin from 2000-2002.

He completed his Residency in Pediatrics at Kassel Clinic from 1995-2000, after working as a Junior Medicine House Officer at Harold Wood Hospital in Essex, United Kingdom, from 1994-1995 and as a Junior Medicine and Surgery House Officer at Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside, United Kingdom, from 1993-1994.
