Dr. Joseph Bennett is an accomplished surgeon and medical professional with a diverse range of experiences, expertise, and awards. He obtained a Medical Degree from the State University of New York Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Bennett held numerous postgraduate training and fellowship appointments, including a research fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Surgical Oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a clinical fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the same institution.
Dr. Bennett holds an attending surgeon position at ChristianaCare Health System in Delaware, as well as director positions for the Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Multidisciplinary Center and the Sarcoma/Gastric/Melanoma Multidisciplinary Center at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. Moreover, Dr. Bennett has held numerous leadership positions, including his current position as Division and Section Chief of Surgical Oncology at ChristianaCare Health System, and as a past President of Medical-Dental Staff and former Member of the Board of Directors at the same institution.
Dr. Bennett has received numerous awards, honors, and memberships in honorary societies, including being recognized as a Top Doctor in Surgical Oncology and HPB by Delaware Today Magazine, America's Top Surgeons for General Surgery/Surgical Oncology. His professional memberships include the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Delaware Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, among others.
