Dr. Giuseppe Coppolino MD, Ph.D. works as an Associate Professor of Nephrology at “Magna Graecia” University of Catanzaro and as a medical doctor in a Nephrology and Dialysis unit.
From 2015 to 2018 he worked as a nephrologist at the regional Hospital "Pugliese-Ciaccio" of Catanzaro, Italy and from 2009 to 2015 he worked at the University Hospital “Mater Domini” of Catanzaro, Italy. During his postgraduate training in nephrology, Dr. Coppolino started his research activity. In 2005 he attended as a Fellow Investigator at the Cardiovascular Research Institute of Physiology, University of Zurich, Switzerland directed by Prof. Thomas Felix Luescher. Research project: “Genetic Deletion of JunD Enhances Age-Associated Endothelial Dysfunction”.
In 2006 he was awarded at European Dialysis and Transplantation Association congress in Glasgow the EDTA Award for best work presented by young Authors. In 2014 he gained the Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor of Nephrology. He is the author of more than 100 indexed publications.
Major fields of interest are CV complications of renal diseases and Markers of CKD and AKI. Since 2012 Dr. Coppolino has been a member of the Cochrane collaboration and currently participates to review protocols for Hypertension and Renal Cochrane group.
