Dr. Carmelo Rizzari

Dr. Prof. Carmelo Rizzari is involved in the field of pediatric leukemia with special expertise developed in the field of cancer chemotherapy. Currently, he is the Head of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit at the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Milano Bicocca, the largest and first recruiting center for hematological malignancies in Italy. Dr. Prof. Rizzari is also a Full Professor of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine of the University of Milano-Bicocca.

Dr. Prof. Rizzari has numerous professional and scientific achievements, among which is being appointed as the President of the European Society of Pediatric Oncology. He is also the Chair of the Board of the Italian Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (AIEOP) for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Moreover, he is an active member and board member of various national and international societies.

Dr. Prof. Rizzari is a Peer-reviewer for several high-scored scientific journals in the field of Hematology-Oncology (Haematologica, Cancer, Pediatric Blood and Cancer, Journal of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, International Journal of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Blood, Leukemia, Lancet Oncology, Lancet Haematology). He is an author and co-author of 131 peer-reviewed publications in high IF score journals, among which are NEJM, Lancet, Lancet Oncology, Lancet Haematology, Journal Clinical Oncology, Blood, British Journal of Haematology, British Journal of Cancer, Cancer, Haematologica, Leukemia.
